My gosh! Hah!! Today's OSIP Parent's Interview was by far the most amusing thing that I have come across so far for the past few weeks! You should have seen the look on our faces at some of the questions...
...like when Hui Peng asked about washing machines and doing the laundry. Mr Paul said that there were washing machines but we had to do the laundry ourselves. I thought it was rather obvious. But apparently Hui Peng didn't think so cause she shrieked and started complaining about not being able to do her own laundry and not wanting to go.
Note our reactions.
Eve was rolling her eyes the whole time. I was snickering evilly to myself. Kenneth and Nicholas was furiously gesturing and whispering "Then don't go!" at their seats. I think the rest of the parents had blank looks.
...and when Hui Peng's mom/grandma/whatever started ranting about the political situation in Thailand. This time, I was rolling my eyes along with Eve.
Like if you have SO many worries, don't go then and spare us the agony!
...also the interesting question posed by Kenneth's parents about the shared dorms, which set half the room off into laughter. I am pretty sure the people at Thailand would have enough common sense not to place a boy and a girl in the same room for 5 months.
... not forgetting the big Hulaballoo about wiring $$$ to the institute and whether we can access it. Poor Mr Paul, he doesn't know the specific spots where the ATMs are, mind you. We'll solve it when we get there guys! And Hui Peng's mom/grandma/whatever suggesting that the parents give the $$$ to the school and the school sends it to us, bit by bit, probably a few tens a week or something.
I think the school has better things to worry and do than that...
...ohh! And Eve's face when my dad suggested lending her his labbie. She was laughing so hard, till her face went beet red! Her uncle had to take a slip of paper and shield us from the glow! I was also beside myself with laughter - it was so funny!
My pops was surprisingly quiet throughout the whole thing. I even had to fill the contact form up for him - he was just staring ahead blankly with a pen in his hand. Then about 1/2 hour before the meeting ended, he started complaining that he was bored, and he was wasting his time and that he wanted to go home. I could only keep him for 15 mins or so before admitting defeat and letting him leave. So the last 15 mins was spent alone by me, which wasn't all that bad...
2 months still seem like a long time. I hope I live till then. Something tells me I will die from dengue.
*chuckle*
